What You See
Might not be what you get. In order to make sense of the world it is necessary to organize incoming stimuli into information which is meaningful. Sometimes even photographs can be creative enough to distort reality. I said even because photography is popularly synonymous with truth - 'the camera doesn't lie.' What about false perspective?
Don't trust your eyes, they can fool you!
See what I mean? :) This illusion is apparently called the Gestalt effect based on general assumptions the brain makes during perception, which is more fully described as
"the form-forming capability of our senses, particularly with respect to the visual recognition of figures and whole forms instead of just a collection of simple lines and curves."Discuss what assumptions you made.
